ADIDAS adiZero ROSE – Black/University Red

This summer, Derrick Rose has helped lead Team USA to a 3-0 FIBA World Championship start. The speedy point guard from Chicago (personally and professionally) has set the tone for a squad that looks to bring the United States its first World Championship gold medal since 1994. In addition to emerging as one of Team USA’s leaders this summer, Rose has also emerged as one of the leading faces of adidas Basketball. The result is the release of his signature shoe, the adiZero Rose, in October.

The adiZero Rose features a synthetic upper, with breathable Sprint Skin mesh on the medial side and a reptile finish on the lateral side. The shoe is described as lightweight and low-cut, though the detached collar gives it the appearance of a higher cut shoe. The collar itself is made to accommodate Rose’s trademark Speed Wrap ankle supports, but is adjustable to players who don’t wear them. Seen here is a predominantly black colorway, with red working accent points throughout. Small hits of white work on the outsole to complete the Chicago color trio.

You can pick up the adiZero Rose at retailers, like Footlocker, on October 22nd.

AIR JORDAN: CMFT VIZ AIR 11 (XI) (White/Black-Varsity Red)

2015 NIKE AIR MAG (MARTY McFLY)

According to the World Intellectual Property Organization’s website and Dime, Tinker Hatfield and his boys at the Nike Innovative Kitchen have filed patent papers for a shoe with an automatic lacing system, such as seen on the Nike Air Mag from Back to the Future II.

If this technology is to be used in the form of a Marty McFly inspired sneaker it would be the definition of game changer; the perfect intersection between performance and nostalgia. The movie was set in 2015; is a Nike Air Mag “Marty McFly” release on the horizon? Stayed tuned to Nice Kicks for more info!

THE COOL KIDS- CLICKING (GYMKHANA THREE) [DC SHOES]

(from left to right) Chuck Inglish and Mikey R...Image via Wikipedia

Some unexpected new music from those Cool Kids. Look’s like the duo has teamed up with DC Skate founder Ken Block and his team to create an original track for their “Gymkhana video series.” The track is called “Clicking (Gymkhana THREE)” and is written and produced by Mike and Chuck. I must say, this is the dopest track I’ve heard from The Kids in a minute. Joints like this are why I went ham when I first heard the duo three years ago.

AIR JORDAN1ARMOR

The AJ 1 Armor molds a Foamposite-like shell into an Air Jordan 1 silhouette. This type of injection-molded foam upper is finding its way onto more and more models, with the release of the Air Force 1 Foamposite Summer of 2010. The shells on these models are thinner and lighter than you would find on the original Foamposite. The reflective silver on this AJ 1 Armor makes a nice contrast to the Copper Foamposite that released in February of 2010. If those were Penny’s, then these are Silver Dollars. The silver looks even better on top of an icy blue sole. This shoe is scheduled to be released in November.

BEANIE SIGEL & KING THE HOOD SAVIOR- HATERS (KANYE WEST DISS)

Last week, I Fake Shore Drive reported that Beanie Sigel was in Chicago and was contemplating moving (or expanding) his State Property operations to the Middle of the Map – Chi-Town to be exact. Beans popped up at celeb open-mic nights, recording sessions and radio stations, and is reportedly buying (or has bought) a house here. I also noted that he’s been working closely with Chicago artist and entrepreneur King The Hood Savior, and today I have one of their first recordings together.

King and Beans, on their Hov & Ye shit, team up to take down Jay’s “Hate”, which was produced by and features Kanye. However, Ye and Jay don’t get off so easy as Beans and King take a few jabs at the last of the Roc. First, King scolds Kanye for shouting out Larry Hoover in “Hate” and then passes the mic to Beanie Mac who spits:

Middle finger up to Jayeeeer
I don’t give a fuck about Ye’eeer
Wanna know, I think Ye Queeeeer
He dress Gayeeeeer
I sweeeear
I heard he takes it in his reeeeear
You should know by now I don’t caaaaare

GAGGIE- GRIZZLY

For those that don't know, Gaggie is an emcee/ producer that reps the city's south side. I have had the opportinity to rock many shows with this cat, and he's definitely official. A while back, a CD featuring a slew of Gaggie songs ended up in the hands of Ludacris, courtesy of Chicago renaissance man, Mike Streetz. Luda checked out the work and one song in particular got his attention – “Grizzly” – which Luda decided he wanted to cuff for himself. Well, the beat at least. So, you know if Luda comes calling you’re gonna have to give up the goods. I mean, who wouldn’t? Well, this track ended up making Luda’s latest album, Battle of the Sexes, and has become a standout track of sorts. So, check out track 12 and you'll see it was produced by Gaggie, courtesy of Get It Crackin Ent. And if a placement like that doesn’t raise your profile, I’m not sure what will. Below, for the very first time you can hear Gaggie’s version for yourself and decide which one you like better. Pass the Conjure and Cheers!

SIMPLY THE BEST (STB)

Simply The Best (STB) is a group of childhood/close friends. They grew up doing this "rap" thing through majority of their young and teenage years.G and B.I.G. Reese came together in 2008. They decided to go for the sky and break that limit also! Simply The Best is exactly what the name says....In everything they will do in this industry.....They will be Simply The Best! STB released a mixtape entitled "Beginning of the End" in October of 2009 and has a new project entitled "Championship Season" available right now on STB's website http://www.mytimeisnowent.com/. I checked out the mixtape, and its pretty hot. KANYE WEST NEW "POWER" VIDEO (UNCENSORED)

Here is Kanye West’s video for the first single of his next album, “Power.” Kanye West always puts a lot of thought into his videos and in this one he takes things to another level. What are your thoughts on the imagery in the video?
First Reaction: Where’s the rest of it? Watching Kanye’s video gives you the feeling women must have when dealing with a minute man, well minute and a half man.

Check below for an interview with the director and the uncensored version.

Kanye's POWER uncensored from videotableau on Vimeo.

So what exactly is the piece?

Well, it’s a video portrait of Kanye. It starts with a very tight shot introducing him that’s kind of a reinvention of a neoclassical painting. It pulls back from the shot, without any cuts, and we reveal the video canvas, populated by all these characters who are depicted in various stages of undress and decadence. The iconography comes from Roman iconography, Renaissance iconography, and it connects to the sexuality of the music as well. As we reveal the setting for it, there’s a feeling of a moment of transition for him. A fall from grace, if you will. It visualizes power, and him as the icon as power, and then at the end of the piece it challenges the power that I set up at the beginning. It’s an elliptical piece of storytelling.

You’ve said you’re expecting a bit of controversy from the piece. Are you gearing yourself up to defend it?

Look, I think it’s a very honest piece. It’s definitely larger-than-life and it’s definitely a strong kind of statement, and it ties into his persona and it ties into his reputation and everything else that will be commented on will be commented on through the filter of how people perceive his persona … he’s brash, and uncensored, but it has a self-awareness. And it’s not just constructed. A lot of very popular mainstream artists are products of record companies and marketing companies, and any time anyone can stand outside of that, that’s interesting. He’s one of the few people left that’s making work that he believes in.

CHRIS SHIELDS GOT NOW, NOT NEXT

Stars aren’t bred, they’re born! It’s destined for the chosen few. They all possess a certain swagger, a certain charm, a special energy, and are definitely a magnetic force to those individuals around them. Meet Chris Shields, born and raised in Maywood, IL. He started off as young charismatic prep basketball player and found himself in a place some might call the “Trap” as a small time hustler. As Chris continued to hustle and found himself falling deeper into the “Trap”, he smartened up and used his basketball skills to put himself through school. Upon completion of school in 2006 Chris headed back to Maywood ready to make his embark on a musical journey that would open the eyes of everyone in Chicago. Fast forward to August 29th, 2007 when Chris recorded the 1st song, “Smiling Faces”, for his “Lend Me Ya Ear” album which was born on April 2nd, 2008. The song caught the attention of a lot of ears and on September 30th 2007 he shot the video for it and the rest is history. The buzz grew about the upcoming release from Chris Shields and a “Shields Is Next” campaign was started thru the streets of Chicago. The 16 track disc is considered a classic debut album by many. He then released the highly anticipated "Everybody Hates Chris" Mixtape. After countless show, and a brief hiatus, Shields was back to work. He released two mixtapes within a week, entitled, "Sky's The Limit: No Cielings" and "Everybody Hates Chris Reloaded".

AIR JORDAN TAKE FLIGHT

Have you ever seen a Jordan shoe with a full-length visible Air-Sole unit? Now you have. Coming out later this year.

JORDAN COMFORT MAX

This is a sample of the "Jordan Comfort Max Fusion" that's expected to come out in the Spring of 2011. Look closely and you'll see that the shoe is basically a low top version of the Air Jordan 11 attached to a Nike Air Max midsole.

AIR JORDAN 6-17-23

This is the Air Jordan 6-17-23. It is a new shoe that combines the number 6, 17, and 23. It is scheduled for release in March of 2011. Be on the lookout!

AIR JORDAN PRIME 5 (ORION BLUE)

Whether you like their methods or not, Jordan Brand has done it again. They have created a new hybrid version of one of their shoes that the fans are guaranteed to either love or hate. We know which side of the fence we usually stand on when it comes to Jordan hybrids, but we need to be fair and give new shoes a try when they release, so we won’t be so quick to pass judgment on this one. This is the new Air Jordan Prime 5 in an orion blue colorway.

This shoe will be a combination of the Air Jordan Alpha 1 and the Air Jordan 5. As you can see, the Air Jordan Alpha 1 will be used for the majority of the silhouette, while hits of the Air Jordan 5 can be seen throughout the rest of the upper while the bottom will be loaded up with a full length Zoom Air unit.

AIR JORDAN SKY HIGH CANVAS

This is the Air Jordan Sky High pack. This is apart of Holiday 2010 collection. Here is the exclusive look of two new colorways of the pack. These include Black/Varsity Red-White-Cement Grey and White/Varsity Red-Cement Grey. These retro sneakers flaunt a big Jumpman logo on the upper. Let me remind you that until Air Jordan VII, the Jumpman logo was strictly placed only on the tongue, but now we see some experimentation with that too! Grey and red heel tab is the common feature of both pairs. Both of them are beautifully designed in canvas and are all set to impress you. In fact, these are much different from the conventional AJ designs. So, if you like them, you will have to wait some more as they are not releasing soon. Meanwhile, check out the image and stay tuned with us for more updates!

NIKE AIR TRAINER MAX '91

The Nike Air Trainer Max ’91 has for a long time been a favorite among people who really want to get the most out of their shoes. The shoe has proven itself to be tough, comfortable and also very capable of handling the needs of hard training athletes. That and the fact that the shoe usually features very nice colorways has helped it to become one of Nike’s most famous training sneakers. Today we are going to be looking at the Nike Air Trainer Max ’91 in this new gray, yellow and black colorway.

The upper of these shoes will be predominantly gray, but will feature accents all throughout the upper of yellow and black. All of the features that fans have come to know and love about this sneaker are still here and 100% intact. This one has already hit retailers so don’t hesitate to go out and grab your pair.

NIKE AIR DIAMOND TURF

Most of the sneakers that we have been featuring are for running and basketball sports. To give you a new scene, here’s a Deion Sanders baseball-inspired Nike Air Diamond Turf in a revamped mode. It was first seen in black/red/white Atlanta Braves/Falcons colorway and now teal replaces the red element. Learn how this Nike Air Diamond Turf is composed by taking a look at the details.

Black is the major color that makes up the upper in its nubuck material covering the toe box and midfoot. Along the base is white leather and across the midfoot is a large strap that features teal horizontal Swoosh. The strap was intended to both add support and accent while on the base of it is a matte gold fragment. The plastic buckle is a tarnish-free component so you don’t have to worry for any future discoloration. Nike Air branding appears on the heaal while a unique Nike label patch was attached on the pull tab. In terms of sole unit, this Air Diamond Turf has stylish black midsole and outsole with teal hints.

This is a sample pair so expect for an official release soon.

STUSSY x CLARKS WALLABEE

For many years the Wallabee shoe from Clark has been a staple in the hip hop sneaker community. This could be partly due to all of the praise that the shoe received back in the 90’s from members of the Wu Tang Clan, particularly Ghostface Killa. Either way the shoe has proven over the years through it’s excellent design and durability and durability that it has what it takes to be a contender in the shoe game. Today we are going to take a look at a new collaboration of the shoe, this is the new Stussy x Clark Wallabee.

The upper on these will take on an entirely black base and will feature a Stussy 30th Anniversary XXX logo on the heel section of the shoe. Underneath is the signature crepe sole from Clark that they have become famous for and the fans love as well. Stay tuned for a release date.

NIKE AIR FORCE 1 BESPOKE: LARRY LUX

Originality and creativity are two basic ingredients needed when one engages into the Nike Bespoke program. These allow the designer to further elaborate his imagination in order to have a truly remarkable output. The latest custom Air Force 1 is no excuse in terms of being unique and novel. Larry Luk is the creator of this one-of-a-kind design with a homey touch.

Larry Luk is currently investing his skills in custom designing and lately shares his ideas by committing on a pair of Air Force 1. This extraordinary masterpiece is inspired by the “Love & War” theme, the design foundation of Luk’s clothing line, “We Are The Process”. By using superior quality materials such as waterproof black denim, stamped leather, patent leather, rubberized leather, and Kevlar, Luk came up with an outstandingly admirable concept in a classic pair of sneakers. The colors used are only limited to black, red, and gray – a minimalist arrangement that only those with artist’s eyes can appreciate. For a bit of variation, Luk added a blue translucent sole for that icy feel and innovative look.
